🚨 Deputy Involved Shooting 🚨

During the course of this incident, the suspect fired additional shots at members of our SWAT Team. We can confirm that the suspect was shot by A*O Deputies and is deceased.

No citizens or deputies were injured.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been contacted to investigate the use of deadly force by our deputies.

The surrounding area will remain closed for an extended period of time.

UPDATE:

We have extended the road closures on W University Ave from W 8th St to W 11th St.

We also have updated the media staging area to the intersection of W 11th St and University Ave.

The suspect in this incident is contained to a single apartment. The ACSO SWAT Team and Hostage Negotiators are on scene. The area has been secured in order to isolate the armed suspect from harming our citizens.

🚨 𝗡𝗪 𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗪. 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲 🚨

Numerous Law Enforcement are on scene in the area of NW 9th Street and W. University Avenue due to an armed barricaded suspect who fired shots upon law enforcement attempting to serve a warrant.

Residents in the area are being evacuated at this time.

W. University Ave from 8th Street to 10th Street is shut down for the safety of our community and law enforcement on scene.
