Stained Apron

Stained Apron Dedicated to food server venting since 1997. Submit to [email protected] She has now moved on, but the food industry memories simmer.

Our founder tried to leave the restaurant business for fifteen years, particularly after a stint at Red Lobster where she was accused of starting a labor union and testified for friends in four successful harassment suits. Her other interests included scuba diving, film, politics, roller coasters, fine American whiskies and advocating for downtrodden waitpeople. In 1997 she started StaindApron.com

. By mid 2017 StainedApron.com’s home page had received over 1.3 million hits. We are planning to relaunch with a new website and previously unpublished stories. StainedApron.com would not exist without the help of restaurant workers around the planet who have submitted their stories. Please Submit Your Stories and let your voice be heard. Submit your story by messaging our page. We will NEVER use your real name. If you have a name you'd like us to use please include it. We do like to include where you are from, so please include that if you can. You can also email them to: [email protected]

"My son waited tables at Cracker Barrel while he was in college in Valdosta, GA. A recognizable NFL player came in and sat in his section; two couples at one table and four children at another. He anticipating a large tip and gave them special service. They left a single dollar bill on each table.

I told him he should have caught them at their car, give back the money and said, 'You must need this more than I do?'" 😂

"What evil lurks in the hearts of waiters? Now you can find out. But can you stomach the results?" asks Julia Moskin of the New York Times, who mentions Stained Apron in the 2005 article. The article has been reprinted several places.

Is all this venting childish or is it necessary to prevent something even more gross, or even dangerous? What do you think?

Thanks to Al Lewis (Tell It To Al) for featuring us in this great 2016 article about Darden.

Darden ranked No. 99 on Fortune Magazine's list of 100 best places to work for 2012, but a lawsuit filed last week accuses the company of underpaying thousands of employees at its popular eateries, including Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse.

When diners misbehave, and definitely when they undertip, social media gives restaurant waitstaff a way to serve up disdain.
