The Good People of Gainesville mural is back and was unveiled this morning! Pepe and I were so excited to play a small part in bringing the Good People of Gainesville mural back to life! ❤️
We just love that this special piece of Gainesville history has found a new home downtown!
If you remember, the original mural was covered up by new construction last year. Thankfully, local artist Louis Hokayem was able to recreate it on the back of the Gainesville Renaissance Building!
The mural is inspired by President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s visit to Gainesville in 1938, following the devastating tornadoes of 1936.
Next time you’re downtown, take a minute to check it out. It’s such a sweet reminder of our city’s history and all the good people who call Gainesville home! ❤️
