To our music community, artists, supporters, and friends:

After an incredible run filled with unforgettable shows, late-night noise, and endless memories, we have made the decision to plan for the closure of Blackstrap Rock Hall at the end of this year.

This was not a decision made lightly. We explored several options in an effort to keep the doors open but it just didn't work out—and that’s okay. Maybe it happened for a good reason. Managing and nurturing a space like Blackstrap takes immense energy, and the reality is that we are choosing to condense our efforts so we can focus on our next steps.

When one door closes, another opens. Our core mission has always been to keep live music vibrant and alive in our community. To that end, we have an exciting new partnership opportunity on the horizon for our music school, Let There Be Rock School! While our direction is shifting slightly, our mission remains exactly the same. We’ll be sharing a more detailed announcement about what’s next for the school very soon.

We are so deeply proud of the home this room has become for independent music, local bands, touring acts, artist markets, the psychic fair and everyone who ever bought a ticket or grabbed a drink at the bar. Blackstrap only exists because of the loyal community that supported it, and we couldn’t have done any of this without you.

What happens next?

The Shows Go On: We will remain open and fully operational through the end of the year. Our scheduled shows, events, and bookings are moving forward as planned! Let’s make these next few months our best yet.

Special Events & Future Pop-Ups: Because we own the building, you might see a public event pop up every now and then! And good news for our psychic lovers—the Psychic Fair will carry on, hosted the first Sunday of every month.

While it makes us sad to write these words, we are choosing to approach these final months with gratitude. Let’s pack the room, support the bands on stage, and celebrate the incredible music scene we’ve been lucky enough to share with you.

With love and gratitude,
Kyle & Elizabeth
