We have been getting lots of questions about when we are closing for the season. Our plan - weather permitting - is to stay open through November 8, which is opening weekend of deer season.

We will, however, be closing for part of the day Saturday, October 3, to attend a wedding for one of my former Freez employees, Kenzie. We will only be open 11a-2p on 10/3. We will be open regular hours on Sunday, 10/4, 11a-8p. Congratulations to future Mr. and Mrs. Olson!

Who is pheeling fall? We are and that’s why we have the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich back on the menu. $9

This weekend we have a creamy macaroni salad and the the caramel apple pie sundaes as special menu items.

Apple and caramel are our specialty ice cream flavors this week.

Last, but not least…ranch dressing! We had one customer tell us how she would drink it if it came in bottles. Boom! Request honored! We now have our ranch dressing in bottles for you to purchase. A 16 oz bottle for $5. Get some for all of your dipping and dressing needs!

Happy 14th birthday to our daughter Alaina! She has been helping since she was seven years old and I am always so proud to see her wait on customers. Thank you for always showing up with a smile and jumping right in wherever you are needed.

This weekend is a chili cheese dog! $6.75. We also have caramel apple pie sundaes. A homemade apple hand pie with a dollop of ice cream, drizzle of caramel and an extra hit of apple pie topping. $6

The Reuben sandwich is on the menu this weekend. Marble bread, corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, served with a side of Thousand Island dressing. $8.25

If you loved our broccoli salad, you will like our new twist on broccoli in our Waldorf salad. Broccoli, celery, pecans, raisins, and diced apples tossed with a semi-sweet dressing. Sides, pints and quarts available.

Specialty ice cream flavors are lemon and cinnamon red hot. It’s a bit crazy, but the two flavors complement each other when twisted.

As much as we were all ready for a break from summer heat, the last few days have maybe been a test of whether we are ready for fall temps. To hang onto summer a bit longer, we are offering the North Dakota Summer Waves soda bar drink if the week. Lemon-lime soda, strawberry, watermelon and lime syrup with a splash of half and half.

This weekend we are shaking things up a bit and offering two of our favorites - chicken strips and funnel fries - into a platter. Our special this weekend is Spicy Chicken Funnel Cake Fries. Two hand-breaded chicken strips, a pile of sweet funnel cake fries, two slices of chopped bacon pieces, served with a dusting of powdered sugar, drizzle of hot honey, and a sprinkle of chives. Sweet, savory and a touch of heat collides and it’s delicious! (For those of you who think the hot honey may be too much for your taste buds, we have a robust maple syrup that also makes this meal incredible!).

Who agrees with me that North Dakota has the most beautiful sunsets? That’s my inspiration for our soda bar drink of the week. It’s called the North Dakota Sunset. Lemon-lime pop served with orange and straw syrups and a splash of half and half.

We will have root b**r soft serve through today and we’ll let you know when a new flavor or two is ready.

We will have knoephla soup on the menu for the remainder of the year. Other special soups will be offered soon.

Headed into the holiday weekend, here’s what’s cooking!

Root b**r specialty ice cream - it’s rootin’ tootin’ delicious!

Creamy Purple Cow is the soda bar drink of the week. A swirl of vanilla ice cream, vanilla syrup and grape pop! This drink gives me a major flashback from my childhood.

Sandwich this weekend is the German Schnitzel! Breaded pork cutlet topped with sauerkraut, sautéed onions, Dijon mustard and Swiss cheese. $8.50.

Our meat freezer is in and ready for your perusal. Steaks, roasts, ground beef and other cuts! Grab some locally raised beef for your grill this Labor Day.

Broccoli salad will be available all weekend. Tonight we are out but we will be making a fresh batch tomorrow morning after a restock on broccoli!

We love our burgers (the is our Farmer Burger) and we especially think you’ll love our homemade broccoli salad. Crunchy broccoli mixed with sunflower seeds, raisins, red onion, bacon crumbles and tossed with a tangy dressing. Add it as a side or take home a pint or quart. This will be on the menu for a couple weeks only.

Meet the “Fiery Rooster.” Breaded or grilled chicken breast cutlet topped with two slices of bacon, white America cheese, sautéed onions, firecrackers (deep-fried jalapeños) and a shot of our homemade honey bourbon sauce (made with Miller Honey, of course).

We are open our regular hours all this week/weekend, 11a-8p. Yay!

What’s new? We are going bananas and nutty over this weeks specialty soft serve flavors - banana and coconut. Try the banana one dipped in our chocolate dip cone topping or get a cone or cup with banana and chocolate ice cream. Coconut and banana ice cream are also great together.

Soda bar drink of the week is North Dakota Paradise. Sprite soda, pineapple, coconut and mango syrup with a splash of half and half. Really refreshing!

We’ve decided to keep the parmesan ravioli bites, jalapeno firecrackers, and piggy-scicles on the menu for the remainder of the year.

If you are gearing up for Labor Day next weekend, please be sure to stop by and ask about our beef selections. An inventory and price list will be posted soon.

Lastly, if you’d like to support our school’s music department, they are once again selling homemade frozen ground beef & cheese burritos. Five big burritos come in a bag for $27. We have a purchase sheet at our front counter. Burritos can either be delivered to your door or picked up at The Freez.
