I was told yesterday that if you knew Russ Yarger for 5 minutes, you knew him for 50 years. I felt that. I only knew Russ for 6 years when I started working at the Freeport General. Immediately I was told Russ was the Major of Freeport. It didn't take long to see that. He was all over the place helping the village. He was even a part of "what happens in the store stays in the store" (sorry Valarie Barnum-Yarger) He would stop by every day for a cookie or two.
So please stop by the Community center from 2 to 5 to celebrate Russ Yarger. If you didn't know him personally you still knew him within the community. We can't feed you this day, let Russ feed you!!! I personally can't to hear all the stories!
