The Depot Cafe, Fredericktown The Depot Cafe, housed in a historic train depot, opened in February of 2016. Since that time, great food and great service have been the focus.

The tiny scratch kitchen continues to make homemade soups, salad dressings, sauces, entree's and desserts.

Happy Friday Folks,
Stopped at the bank this morning, and realized many of you have a day off today. Grrrrrr, I'm jealous.
Lot's of good food today.
Let's start off with the Pressed Prime Rib Sandwich for lunch. Thin slices of roasted prime rib are grilled on a brioche hamburger bun and served with au jus, creamed horseradish and a side.

The pasta special is Tuscan Chicken Tortellini. Great response on this yesterday.
Tonight's seafood special is a Cajun Medley. Blackened Mahi Mahi, Shrimp Étouffée and Cajun Rice. Served with a choice of soup or salad.
Soup of the Day is a Cream of Broccoli.

We start off Thursday with our Baggage Car Sandwich.
The pasta special is a Chicken and Prosciutto Tortellini baked in a Tuscan Cream Sauce.
Hanger Steaks are in house.
Tonight's seafood special is a Tutto Mare Pasta. Shrimp and bay scallops are sautéed, then tossed in a creamy crab sauce with bowtie pasta.
Don't forget, tonight is Prime Rib Night. We start serving at 4 pm.

Freshly roasted prime rib is available starting at 4 pm. Twelve ounce slabs of this wonderful meat are served with potato, vegetable and choice of soup or salad.

Sunday's we open at 9 am with our Brunch Menu. Quite a few items to choose from including our Breakfast Barbacoa Burrito, Turkey Club Eggs Benedict and the huge Farmer's Bagel.
Starting at 11 am the Sunday Supper Menu is available for those not wanting a brunch item.

Pappas Barbaoca Appetizer is available.
The Baggage Car Sandwich is a huge hit.
Spinach Artichoke Flatbread makes a great shared appetizer.
The pasta special is a Baked Beef and Pork Cannelloni in a tomato cream sauce.

Just a heads up.
Later today, we will start making our sauce for this weekends seafood special, Pasta Tutto Mare.
We start with a roux, adding clam juice and lobster stock, then heavy cream, seasonings and lump crab meat.
When an order is placed we sauté shrimp and bay scallops, which are then tossed in our sauce with bowtie pasta.
This is a winner folks.
Also bringing in a case of KC Strip Sirloins, something we haven't served before.
Don't forget to make those weekend reservations.
