What happens to perfectly good food when a store can no longer sell it? 🌽🍅🫛

Join Magic Cycle founder Martina Gallagher for a FREE behind-the-scenes look at local food rescue – how surplus food from grocery stores, farms, and other businesses is recovered and quickly redistributed to families in need and community organizations throughout Frederick and beyond. Learn what can be rescued, what those confusing date labels truly mean, and simple ways we call all help keep good food feeding people instead of landfills.

Join us at for a cozy fall morning of flowers, creativity, and seasonal refreshments!

In this hands-on workshop, Gracie from will guide you through creating your own 12″ seasonal wreath using a beautiful selection of locally grown dried flowers, filler, and grasses from Dahlia Den.

You’ll learn the basics of designing with dried materials, including how to create shape, texture, and balance as you build your wreath. At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece to bring a little bit of the season into your home and enjoy for months to come.

No previous floral arranging experience is necessary, and all materials are included. Common Market will provide fall refreshments to enjoy while you create.

We're just TWO WEEKS AWAY from our biggest party of the year - Ownerfest!
Join us on Saturday, October 17th from 12 - 3PM at our Route 85 store for Ownerfest 2026. Enjoy great food, live music, raffles and giveaways, and more, all while mingling with your community. The party also doubles as our Board of Directors' Annual Meeting, where Owners can hear about what's next for the Co-op and meet our newly elected Board members.
Ownerfest is about more than a meeting—it’s a celebration of local food, local businesses, cooperation, and the community that has supported Common Market for more than 50 years.

Who owns the Co-op? We do! 💚

Our members (a.k.a. Owners) collectively own the business and can help shape the store’s future. At a time when corporate consolidation dominates our food system (did you know that just 4 companies own a third of all grocery store locations in the U.S.?), Co-ops like the Common Market offer an alternative that prioritizes equity, sustainability, and the local economy. Money spent at the Co-op stays in our community to help support local jobs, local makers and farmers, and community resilience.

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to join the Co-op movement, October is a great time to sign up. The first 80 folks to sign up in store receive the pictured tote bag filled with goodies! The t-shirt is available for purchase at both Co-op locations.
