We are located in historic downtown Franklin, Indiana, just south of the striking Johnson County courthouse, on Main Street. Richard, a classically trained chef, earned his culinary arts degree at the Philadelphia Restaurant School, recognized as one of the finest cooking schools in the U.S.A. He then commanded exceptional kitchens in Colorado, Vermont, and Tennessee, before relocating to our smal

l town of Franklin, Indiana. You may be asking yourself, Why Franklin? Richard met, and fell in love with, local girl Meg Jones. When you meet Meg, be sure to thank her for her good taste, in both men and food, and for her foresight in bringing Richard's culinary skills to Franklin. Nine years ago, Richard and Meg opened Richard's Kitchen, specializing in steak and seafood. The restaurant was a resounding success and quickly achieved its spot among Indiana's finest destination restaurants (Indianapolis Monthly, October, 2010.) In the words of one of our Customers;

By 2009, Richard and Meg were looking for other ways to share their love of fine food and wine. First came the addition of Richard's Brick Oven Pizza (BOP), which opened in the spring of 2009. Specializing in Naepolitan style, wood-fired, brick oven pizza, this infused the Franklin restaurant scene with a tantalizingly new dining experience. Richard's BOP features an authentic wood-fired brick oven, designed by Richard's father, Bill Goss, and constructed using repurposed brick pavers from local Franklin streets. Prominently showcased as the focal point of the restaurant, the oven is simply a work of art. Surrounded by a circular bar, patrons can watch their pizza go from dough to a piping hot pie right before their eyes! Richard's BOP also offers pastas and salads, plus a full bar, including locally crafted beers and fine wines. Enjoy dining alfresco in our beautiful garden patio on sunny spring, summer and fall days, weather permitting. Call us for all your catering needs. We offer the most unique catering meals in Johnson County. We will cater at your place or ours, indoor or out. We have officially entered the last week of Richard’s Brick Oven Pizza! 🍕

As we bid you adieu, we expect to run out of certain toppings. It just doesn’t make sense to buy more knowing we won’t sell them in time.

To help with this transition, those of you who follow us will be able to keep track of what toppings were 86’d that day! If there’s a red line through the topping, it’s means we are officially out ❌

So far everything from our new menu is in stock, but we will keep you updated as the days follow!

For last nights service, I pulled out an extra case of dough for us (that’s 60 extra dough balls for our brick oven delights!) Yet, we STILL ran out! 🤯

We knew once we announced our departure that we would be flooded with the city’s support. You all have absolutely showed up for us! We cannot thank you enough for not only your support but your patience with us and our staff while we navigate these high volumes! 💛

That being said, we have 241 doughs & over 100 pinwheels to sell out of tonight! 😉
