Oktoberfest Munich SIZED pretzels are available today. You know, the ones that are bigger than your face? There are some in the case that are still hot from the oven and more staying warm for you in our courter warmer. Hurry before they are gone! Banana Slippers …our light, moist sponge “Cloud Cake” with whipped banana buttercream. Anyone as old as I am probably knows why I just had to make these and add them to the bakery case. There used to be a similar thing you could buy that I have not been able to find for at least 20 years. If you’ve been looking, like I have…hop on in!

Good morning! Thank you for running right in today. We did not intend to be out yesterday, but my Mom and I have husbands with birthdays on the same day this week, so we spoiled them with a little Oktoberfest visit to Helen. The leaves are changing everywhere. Just gorgeous! The team and I are ready to get back to business, teaching our Clara some more of our pastry work for the fall and Christmas season. Are you ready? The cutie apple ginger crisp I had a year ago, on my trip back home to Seattle, then had to recreate for you, will be available tomorrow, Friday. We are open 10 to 2 on Fridays.

On my last night in Seattle, a couple of weeks ago, I had an amazing apple ginger crisp that obviously had minced fresh ginger all throughout, not just dried ground ginger added, as is typical of fall apple desserts. I knew I was coming back to make a version of my own for you one day soon. That day was today. Let me know if you love the fresh, super aromatic ginger as much as I do. The crust is my mama and her mama’s recipe Murbteig German short crust.

We have 2 loaves of sourdough rosemary and Kalamata olive French Fougasse, freshly baked and in the case for you today. These half size loaves are just $6 and make a fantastic appetizer with olive oil and herbs. One would make a lovely pre-storm Friday evening treat! Or save it for this rainy weekend.
