Anyone know who I need to contact about a refund for 2026? Because this year has been one of the toughest we’ve ever faced.
First, I walked away from my dream job. It hurt, but we’re rebuilding—and honestly, that’s what this page is for. I even sold my first pizza at a farmers market, and that meant more to me than I can explain.
Then, my dad passed away. He was the best, and he is immensely missed. There’s no version of 2026 that feels right without him.
And now, my son is preparing for the first of a two-part surgery for his epilepsy. As a dad, that’s the part that weighs on me the most.
So… is there anyone in HR I can speak with? I’d like to file a complaint, request a refund, and maybe speak to a manager.
We’re still here. Still rebuilding. And still holding onto hope for what’s ahead. ❤️🍕 #❤🍕

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who reached out after my dad’s passing and sent birthday wishes the other day. Finding the words has been tough—I’m better at making pizza than writing posts. But all the love and support means more than you know. ❤️

Today is my birthday, and it’s not a fun one. I’m feeling especially grateful for our Sammie’s Pizza community.
We lost my dad last week, and the kindness shown to my family has carried us through some very hard days.
Thank you for being here. Please hug your people tight. ❤️ #❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of my dad.
He fought incredibly hard and bravely won his battle with leukemia, but his health declined quickly due to other serious medical issues.
My dad was an amazing father, a loving husband, and a true friend. He had a special way of making people feel cared for, loved, and important. He meant so much to so many people, the memories we created, and the impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him will never be forgotten.
We are devastated by this loss, but endlessly grateful for the time, love, laughter, and life we were blessed to share with him.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Does anyone else get weirdly annoyed when a business charges for something that feels like it should just be part of purchasing the product?
I went to a store today—not one I usually go to, it’s just a little out of the way from my house. I won’t name it because I don’t speak negatively about other businesses. If I don’t like a place, I just don’t spend my hard-earned money there. Simple as that.
I was there for cake mix, frosting, and chocolate chips. The chocolate chips are because my daughter made banana bread with what we had in the house… and now she has to make it again because it was some of the best banana bread I’ve had in a long time. No pressure, kid. 😂
The cake mix and frosting are for somebody’s birthday tomorrow. So, if you see this little troll of a kid around, make sure you wish Coop a very happy 13th birthday! 🎉
Anyway, there we are at the register with four items. The cashier was very nice, pleasant, and just doing their job. They asked, “Do you need a bag?”
In my head, I immediately thought, “Oh crap… I forgot they charge for bags.”
Sure, I could buy another reusable bag—but like a lot of people, I already have approximately 147 reusable bags sitting in my basement. I don’t need another one. I need a support group for the amount of bags my beautiful wife brings home.
And it got me thinking: making pizza for a living, how many of you would be annoyed if I charged 28¢ for a pizza box?
“Your pizza is $18… and it’s an additional 28¢ if you’d like to transport it home without carrying it like a greasy frisbee.” 🍕 To my 4ish employees you now have to pay for the box. Pizza is still free and guess what family!
I just can’t justify it. At festivals and markets, customers from other vendors sometimes ask us for a box to carry their food or products. If I recognize where it came from, I might joke around with my food truck friends—but at the end of the day, we hand them a box.
Because it’s just good business, good customer service… and nobody should have to carry cake mix, frosting, chocolate chips, and a birthday cake home like they’re competing on Supermarket Sweep.

Come see me at the Norfolk farmers market.

Quick up date on dad. He’s still resting in hospital. They are waiting for some magic number to go down and some other magic number to go up. He should not be there to much longer. 🤞
