LAST DAY OF SERVICE UPDATE - Thursday, October 30, 2025:

Hi GTG friends and loyal guests,

We have an update to share with you all. As many of you know, we’ve been waiting for final confirmation from the developer so we could pinpoint our last day of service. It’s now official — our last day of service will be Thursday, October 30, 2025.

We’ll do our very best to maintain enough inventory to keep our full menu available until then, but please understand it’s a delicate balancing act as we wind things down. Some items may become limited as we get closer to our final day.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the countless messages, cards, and calls. Your words and visits have meant more to us than we can ever express. We hope to see as many of you as possible over these next two weeks — to share one more meal, one more laugh, and one more memory together.

SADLY, the time has come:

Dear friends and loyal guests,

The time has come for us to share some bittersweet news. As many of you know, the Orchard View Plaza was sold several years ago, and plans are now moving forward to redevelop the space into a town square. Because of this, we will need to close Green Tea Garden.

For nearly 20 years here in Franklin—and 25 years before that at our first family restaurant, Ho Ho’s in Bay View—our family has had the joy and privilege of serving you. That’s almost 45 years of cooking, sharing meals, and building friendships that truly feel like family.

We had hoped to pass Green Tea Garden on to new ownership so that our recipes and traditions could continue, but unfortunately those plans fell through. With the plaza being redeveloped, and with my parents (now 69 and 71) ready to finally slow down after decades of hard work, the time feels right to retire. Many of our family helpers have also stepped back due to retirement or health, and it’s simply become too much to carry on.

Over the years, so many of you have asked, “What’s next?” or said, “We’ll follow you wherever you go!” Please know how deeply we appreciate these words. The truth is—we don’t know what the future holds. Maybe Dad will work a little elsewhere, maybe Mom will take on the role of full-time grandmother, or maybe they’ll dabble in something food-related on a smaller scale. Whatever comes next, we’ll keep you updated here on our page.

As of now, we’ve been asked to vacate by October 31, 2025. We’re hopeful for a few extra days, but either way, our last day of service will be right around then. Until then, we would love nothing more than to cook for you a few more times. Please call in your favorites and stop by to share a meal with us in these final weeks.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you. Thank you for your loyalty, your friendship, your laughter, and your love. It has been the honor of our lives to serve this community for nearly half a century.
