Provide the general assistance to a Quality Assurance Department in the following areas: be a liaison between Manufacturing, R & D, Order Fulfillment, Inventory Management and Quality Assurance to ensure that quality systems are maintained to SQF standards. Assist in determining root cause for customer issues. Ensuring raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods are tested and approved with proper paperwork in a timely manner.
Work independently on a shift as determined by your supervisor. This position may be required to work on Saturdays as determined by the manufacturing scheduling demand.
Bilingual preferred.
2nd Shift (2:30pm - 11pm).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned.
· Inspects production lines and manufacturing for critical / process control points. Performs ATP, allergen, and micro swabbing as specified. Responsible for verification of sanitation and environmental programs.
· Performs audits of manufacturing facility(s) including/but not limited to: Glass Inspections, Cooler Inspections, GMP audits of manufacturing and non-manufacturing areas, Maintains records related to the inspections and validation exercises.
· Performs metal detector and weight checks. Obtains samples for analysis.
· May be responsible for in-house allergen or microbiological testing. May perform other handheld lab instrumentation such as pH, refractive index, etc.
· Investigate the root cause of all customers’ complaints and if necessary.
· Place items on hold and track and trend issues. Review quality
· Standardize process tasks on the production floor shop for continuous improvements.
· Write SOPs as needed.
· Be a liaison between QA and Manufacturing for assistance on instructions or how to manufacture flavors on the plant floor.
· Request and maintain supplier documentation to maintain quality systems.
· Lead or participate in Quality Programs, such as HACCP, Food Defense, PCQI, etc.
· Develop Statistical Process Controls for incoming materials, intermediates and finished goods.
· Perform all duties in a safe manner adhering to company safety rules and regulations
· Thoroughly understands material and equipment hazards and performs all duties in a safe manner using appropriate personal protective equipment.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw/interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
