From the State President
A September message from Jim Jakubowski, Ohio State Aerie President
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Here it is September already. The Grand Aerie Convention was held August 8–12 in Dallas, Texas. It was very hot,
but everyone in attendance had a good time.
In August, we held All Zones Day at the Rec Park, and a great time was had by all. Thank you to Dave Favorite and
his crew for doing a great job. A lot of money was raised, and the Park Board meeting went well.
Carol and I attended the homecoming for JPGMP Becky Pelkey in Milton, Vermont, where her home Aerie and
Auxiliary hosted the event. It was a wonderful time, and her check to her special charity, Brattleboro Retreat, was
over $217,000. Great job.
September has been a very busy month. On September 11 and 12, we will be in Flint, Michigan, for JPGWP Dave
Wooster’s homecoming. To all State and State Auxiliary Officers, Organizational and Leadership will be held
September 18 and 19 at Wapakoneta #691. I hope to see everyone there.
If you would like me to attend a special function, please make the request through the State Aerie office. Also,
please remember my special charity, the Mighty Oaks Foundation. I will bring brochures with me to Leadership next
weekend.
Please do not forget your Zone Prep meetings and Zone Conferences. Judy and I are going to try to attend a few of
them.
I know I am probably forgetting a few things, but I look forward to seeing many of you soon.
