Plot twist: I don’t nail every cake. 😭🎂
Yep…your favorite baeker has cake fails too. 😂 Some of these had me looking at the cake like “now who made THIS?!” because surely it wasn’t me. 😭
Social media makes it easy to only show the pretty stuff. The clean edges, perfect details and cakes that come together exactly how I imagined. But you don’t always see the long nights, redos, stressful orders, or the moments when life was LIFE-ING behind the scenes.
I’ve had seasons where I was trying to run a business, work, handle real-life situations AND somehow still be creative on demand.
That doesn’t mean my customers deserve anything less than what they paid for. I’ll always take accountability when something leaves my hands that doesn’t meet my standards or their expectations. But I’ve also learned that being talented doesn’t mean being perfect.
I’m grateful for the customers who have shown me grace, communicated with me and allowed me the opportunity to make things right. 💙 And business has taught me lessons from the other side too. Unanswered messages, cakes never picked up, changed plans after deposits were paid…all of it comes with the territory.
Looking back at some of these makes me CRINGE 😭😂, but I can also see the growth. Every ugly cake, stressful order, redo and “yeahhhh…we’re never doing THAT again” helped build the baker I am today.
I could hide these and pretend every Flie Cake has always been flawless…but nah. This is part of the Flie Life too.
I make mistakes. I learn. I grow. And then I get right back in that kitchen. 💙
Still Making the Edible Incredible…even if every now and then the edible be looking a lil questionable. 😭😂
FLIE LIFE ✈️🎂💙
Now be honest…which one would’ve had y’all calling me IMMEDIATELY?! 😂😂😂
