🌽 October Sweetcorn Update! 🌽

I just came out of the field checking our next planting, and here’s what it looks like! And if you look at the second picture… Uncle Steve has already done the taste testing! šŸ˜‚

This patch will be ready for Saturday and Sunday! If it’s ready earlier, we’ll let you know.

We could pick it now, but it’s not quite at the sweetness I want for you. Another day or two will give it time to reach its prime—and it’ll be worth the wait!

Can you believe it? Fresh, locally grown Sweetcorn in October! šŸŒ½šŸ’›

Good morning, everyone! šŸ‚ It looks like another beautiful fall day!

A major piece of equipment we use to deliver pumpkins has been down for a couple of days, slowing our deliveries. Hopefully, we’ll be back out soon, bringing more pumpkins to our locations. Thank you for your patience!

Here’s some sweet news: we were able to get more Sweetcorn out of the field, and we have a small amount at every location this morning! 🌽

October Sweetcorn is a treat—stop by early if you’d like some, because supplies are limited!

šŸŽƒ Check out these beauties!

Can you imagine your front porch, steps, or home decorated with some of these autumn treasures?

From stackers and warties to ornamentals and classic orange pumpkins—we’ve grown a wonderful mix of colors, shapes, sizes, and textures! Big and bold, little and lovely, smooth, ribbed, bumpy, and full of character. šŸ‚

Uncle Steve spends hours upon hours—and days throughout the winter—searching for the most unique and beautiful varieties to plant. Seeing them come out of the fields and imagining them at your homes makes it all worthwhile!

We planted just about everything we could get our hands on, and now we’re bringing that beautiful variety straight from our fields to you!

This year’s pumpkin crop has been prolific, and we have plenty for everyone. Come pick your favorites, build a pumpkin stack, or put together a whole porchful of fall! 🧔 Straw bales are also available to complete your display!

šŸ“ Pumpkins are available ONLY at our Tonkel Road, State Route 37, Leo, and Hicksville locations.

šŸ“ Ornamental corn and corn shocks are available ONLY at Tonkel Road right now.

🌽 And can you believe it? It’s the first week of October, and we STILL have local, scrumptious, non-GMO Sweet Corn at EVERY location!

🌽 OK, everybody—we have October Sweetcorn!

Sweetcorn is available at EVERY location today! Supplies are limited, so get there early before it’s gone!

Just a reminder: With all the rain over the past three weeks, we couldn’t get into the field every time we needed to spray for earworm, so you may find a few earworms in this patch. Generally, any earworm damage is limited to the first inch and a half of the tip. Just trim off the affected tip!

Because it’s October, the ears may be smaller and the tips might not be completely filled out—but this corn is absolutely scrumptious and delicious to eat!

Please don’t peel back the husks to inspect the ears. That dries out the corn and spoils it for the next customer. Help us keep it fresh for everybody! šŸ’›

🌽 A little October sweetcorn update from Uncle Steve!

We picked some sweetcorn last night, but the rain made us stop. Auburn has a small amount available this morning, but our other locations do not have sweetcorn right now.

The eating quality of this patch is phenomenal! But October corn comes with a few challenges, and as always, we want to be upfront with you.

Ear sizes will vary, and getting every ear perfectly filled all the way to the tip is a tall order this late in the season.

As I mentioned earlier this week, the rain kept us from getting into the field every time we needed to spray for earworms. There aren’t many, but you may find one in some ears, along with a little tip damage.

Supply from this patch is very limited. We plan to have sweetcorn Saturday and Sunday, possibly Monday, but we won’t have it every day through next week. We’re hoping the next patch will be ready for the following weekend, and we’ll keep you posted!

šŸŽƒ Ready to decorate for fall? Pumpkins and autumn dĆ©cor are available now at State Route 37 and Tonkel Road! Later today, you’ll also be able to shop at our Leo and Hicksville locations.

Thank you so much for your patience, understanding, and continued support. We hope you have a wonderful day! šŸŒ½šŸ’›

🌽 A sweetcorn update from Uncle Steve Nye, the Sweetcorn Guy!

Our next patch is getting close! We’re checking it daily and expect to have fresh sweetcorn toward the end of this week. Quantities will be limited, so I’ll post again when we know exactly when we’re picking.

I also want to be upfront with you: all the rain kept us out of the field at times when we needed to spray for earworms. That means you may find an earworm near the tip of an occasional ear. If you do, simply cut off that tip; the rest of the ear can still be enjoyed. Please leave the husks on while shopping.

In the meantime, you can shop for pumpkins and fall dĆ©cor at our Tonkel Road, Hicksville and State Route 37 locations. šŸŽƒ

Now THAT is a giant pumpkin! šŸŽƒ

Rhett and his family picked up this beauty for an event they hold every year. They promised to send us a video, and I have a feeling it’s going to be epic.

I won’t spoil the surprise just yet. Stay tuned! šŸ‘€

šŸŽƒ Pumpkin shopping is open at three locations!

You can now shop at Robinson Chapel Church on Tonkel Road, State Route 37, and Hicksville.

We plan to open our Leo location, right behind Chemistry 101 and Subway, sometime this week. We’ll keep you posted when it’s ready!

We’re still bringing out more fall dĆ©cor. Indian corn and corn shocks are coming, and we’re working on getting straw bales for sale at some locations.

šŸ‰ Watermelons will arrive sometime today at Tonkel Road and State Route 37 for $6 each.

Last week’s rain slowed us down getting everything set out. I’ve made it a practice not to complain about rain—we were grateful for it! I just wish it could have been spread out over a couple of weeks. šŸ˜‚

Thank you for your patience and support. We appreciate you!
