In this week’s installment of The Glamorous Life of a Restaurant Owner…
Today’s episode features Eric Rickman crawling around on the floor under the bar glass washer because a drain decided it no longer believes in draining.
It’s one of those jobs nobody pictures when they say, “Hey, we should open a restaurant!”
People see the food, the drinks, the live music, and the packed dining room. They don’t see the clogged drains, broken equipment, late-night repairs, or the countless unexpected problems that somehow become your problem.
I’m incredibly grateful to have a husband and business partner who can tackle just about anything that comes our way. Even better, he’s spent years teaching me plenty of “man school” skills so I can handle more of these challenges myself.
That said… I’m also incredibly grateful that this particular lesson was taught through observation today. 😆
Cheers to all the small business owners currently fixing things they never imagined they’d be fixing when they opened their doors.
