Good food doesn’t have to be complicated, or expensive.
I didn’t get more than a solid month to learn this business from my Dad, but the very first thing he ever told me was to have the best items, in the biggest portions, at the best price, served with a smile.
“You’ll be ok if you can do that. It should never cost them an arm and a leg to treat their family.”
The cost of everything continues to rise, that’s life. We haven’t changed prices at The Snack Shack in four years. When I say I have had my suppliers call me to question my prices, I mean it. At times it may appear as bad business, but I intend to keep my Dad’s philosophy, even if at my own expense. It hasn’t been easy, but the only reason we manage to do so is because of how busy you all keep us! Margins can run thin as long as there is enough traffic. And I am very thankful for that!
When the weather cools and kids return to school, seasonal shops close. That’s just what happens. People eat far less ice cream in the cold months, go figure. Come feed your family for practically nothing and grab a dessert while you’re at it. A one stop shop. It’s a win-win for this community!
