We’ve officially decided to leave
Over time, we experienced repeated issues involving account misuse, suspicious pickup activity, and drivers arriving who did not match the identity shown in the app (see the image from today of someone supposedly sharing a family members account, but there’s no way to know if that’s actually true). These situations are happening more than half of the time, and we cannot continue on their platform. We have had to go through multiple dashers for almost every order to ensure the safety of our customers and protection of our reputation.
We repeatedly brought these concerns to DoorDash and pushed for stronger verification, accountability, and better merchant protections. Unfortunately, we did not feel the response matched the seriousness of what was being reported.
At the end of the day, protecting our staff, customers, and reputation matters more to us than staying on a platform we no longer trust.
Customers deserve to know who is picking up and delivering their food. Restaurants deserve meaningful support when safety and fraud concerns are raised.
We strongly encourage ordering directly from local restaurants whenever possible. Direct ordering creates better accountability, better communication, and better support for small businesses.
