Good morning, neighbors.
It has been a challenging week, and I want to remind anyone who may be feeling overwhelmed that help is available.
There are agencies and community resources that can provide short-term relief when life becomes difficult. Sometimes that relief is exactly what you need to catch your breath, get out of immediate crisis, and begin making a plan for what comes next.
Please do not let your current situation convince you that you are stuck there. Take the help, use the opportunity to regroup, and begin taking the next steps toward stability.
If you need help creating a financial plan or simply sorting through your options, I am here, and there are other support agencies willing to assist as well. Your situation will be handled with dignity and confidentiality.
I know asking for help can be hard, and I hear some very difficult stories. But support works best when we work together. We can encourage you, connect you to resources, and help create a path forward, but your participation matters too.
Faith without works is dead.
I wish you well, I pray for you, and I am here to help. I just need you here with me, taking the next step too.

UPDATE: God is good.
We still have a way to go, but I am grateful to share that after speaking with the landlord and management company, they are willing to work with us within our budget and allow this family an additional 30 days. Sometimes families get so far behind that it feels almost impossible to see a way forward. In moments like this, a little relief can give someone the time and space they need to breathe, regroup, and begin getting back on track.
A special thank you to Tonya Jones (CARE Center Board & HUD Director) and the apartment management company, DR Udoh( FCHS) for listening, advocating, and working with us to help this family. This is what can happen when people are willing to come together and look for solutions instead of simply seeing the problem. Thank you to everyone who called, messaged, offered resources, prayed, or asked how you could help. Your response means more than you know. There is still a need, and we are continuing to work toward a longer-term plan. If you would still like to assist this family or support the CARE Center’s Emergency Assistance efforts, please contact us directly.
At the St. Francis County CARE Center, sometimes our role is not to solve everything in one day. Sometimes it is to help create enough breathing room for a family to take the next step.

Today, we were able to do that.

Thank you for helping us care for our neighbors.

That chill in the air is our reminder: it’s time to prepare winter bags for our neighbors in need. 🧣🧤 We’re collecting warm socks, gloves, hats, scarves, and other cold-weather essentials. Backpacks are welcome, too! Donations can be dropped off at the St. Francis County CARE Center. Thank you for helping us care for our neighbors. 💙

💛 Good morning, neighbors!

Yes, we still have USDA food available, and I will be distributing today until 1:30 PM. Just a reminder: there is no USDA distribution on Thursdays.
I also want to take a moment to sincerely thank every volunteer who came out last Friday to help us unload our food truck. I know some of you don’t like public recognition because you serve from the heart, but I need you to know just how much your help means.
As the only staff member at the CARE Center, I appreciate you more than I can say, but so do the neighbors and families who depend on the services we provide.
This work can be mentally tough some days, but it is also incredibly rewarding. Knowing that, together, we helped someone put food on their table, meet a need, or simply make it through a difficult week is a feeling that is hard to describe.
Thank you for showing up. Thank you for caring. And thank you for continuing to help us take care of our neighbors. ❤️
Neighbors helping neighbors, that’s what community is all about.

Good morning, neighbors. 💙
I am aware of the individual currently sleeping outside of the CARE Center. One thing I truly love about St. Francis County is that when we see someone in need, our hearts naturally want to help.
We are providing comfort items and assistance as we are able. If the Lord places it on your heart to bless someone, we certainly would never discourage kindness. However, please use caution when approaching or interacting directly.
I usually take time to establish a relationship with our neighbors in need, and even then, we remain mindful of everyone’s safety.
Thank you, St. Francis County, for continuing to be such caring and compassionate neighbors.
