Here she is…Patriotic Rolling Tribute in Old Glory Red & Blue to honor America’s 250th Anniversary Has ROLLED INTO DEQUINCY! Thank you to Jake McCoy for sharing this picture. Please note and respect that no one is allowed to board the engine as per CPKCS railroad authorities. Darren Royer, local engineer tied Engine 776 up in front of the museum this evening.

CPKCS has sent one of their five commemorative locomotives to be on dispay at DeQuincy Railroad Museum in conjunction with the 45th annual Kansas City Southern Historical Society Convention which kicks off at the DeQuincy Railroad Museum this Friday and Saturday, June 5-6.

This will be the first time the convention has taken place in DeQuincy. The event rotates from city to city along the KCS system and has previously been hosted in cities such as Shreveport; Rosenberg, Texas; and Kansas City, Missouri, just to name a few. Although convention registration is now closed, train buffs and the public will get to enjoy seeing the special display.

The convention will also feature fellowship, show and tell, a model contest, a photo contest, rail photography, and a tour of the Beauregard Museum at the DeRidder depot.
