In 2008, Chef Luis Fernandes joined the Redwood Steakhouse and Brewery and implemented a new restaurant service, catering.
Redwood Catering has been a part of Redwood Steakhouse and Brewery for the past 12 years. During those times we have catered to a large amount of private and public functions ranging from 10 customers to 1000.
We have been a preferred vendor for multiple event centers and exclusive for a few including, The Flint Institute of Arts, Sloan Longway, The Pine Tree Barn, The Oakley, Factory One Stay, Gerych's Greenhouse, Flint Farmer's Market, Capitol Theater, Flint Institute of Music, and Stone House Farms.
Our services range from plated individual meals to buffets, family-style, interactive chef stations, and even lunch boxes for board meetings and seminars. Three years ago, we introduced the Redwood Patty Wagon, a food truck that serves the public, customized private corporate events, open houses, weddings, etc.
We have accommodated menus to fit customers needs that range from vegetarian to steaks, halal to kosher.
As a result of Covid-19, all social gatherings have been put to a halt nationwide. We have seen changes overnight due to the coronavirus, and so we must get creative to adapt to these modern times and keep our business running.
The following is a list of services that we are implementing as a result:
Delivery and takeout for special events
We offer individual as well as family-style meals from our restaurant menu. The individual meals can be ordered on line, by calling or emailing us at the restaurant. We are also creating new menu items with heating instructions for the deliveries and takeout so customers can enjoy their meal at a different level.
Micro Events
Think small. These are small gatherings with a limited number of attendees, making it easier to promote social distancing guidelines. With more space available, you can arrange your seating option with ample room between guests.
Single-Use Menu Options
We offer disposable products that play a large role in limiting contact between guests and staff. We have creative ways to make unique presentations that promote safety. Please contact us for some menu ideas that we have created.
Attendant Served or Chef interactive Stations
We offer one attendant working at each food station, so one person only handles serving utensils.
Chef attended food stations are also available. Please contact us for our unique menu options.
Individual Portions or Food Truck
We offer individually packaged meals or boxed lunches. Our food truck is also available for customized onsite catering needs.
Transparent Safety Procedures
Staff working these events are required to wear masks and gloves. We will be glad to let you know the details of our cleaning protocols.
Take it Outdoors
Outdoor locations provide the safest environment for catered events. We can offer the food truck or use portable catering equipment to prepare the meals and the type of service you will want for your guests.
Our Catering service must work within current limitations to come up with creative ways to serve guests safely. Despite the challenges imposed by the coronavirus, it is possible to serve groups as long as we abide by state regulations.
