What started as a shared love of football became an opportunity to build leadership, character, and a heart for giving back.

Led by Liberty-Benton Elementary School fourth-grade teacher Jeanine Baker, a group of boys formed The Pigskin & Pizza Leadership Club, combining fantasy football with valuable lessons about teamwork, responsibility, character, and leadership.

Throughout the NFL season, the boys volunteered alongside senior football players at Heavenly Pizza on Monday nights, learning the value of hard work while participating in a unique pay-it-forward initiative. The money they helped earn, along with a $1,500 sponsorship from Heavenly Pizza, was donated to Imagine for Youth, Inc., the foundation founded by Micah Hyde. Their donation will help provide brand-new tennis shoes to local youth in need.

One of the highlights of the program was a special Zoom call with Micah Hyde, who spoke with the boys about leadership, work ethic, teamwork, handling both wins and losses, and the importance of being a leader on and off the field.

We’re honored to have partnered with Mrs. Baker and these outstanding young men. Their commitment to serving others proves that leadership isn’t just about what you accomplish for yourself—it’s about the difference you make for those around you. 🏈❤️🍕
