I’ve spent my life moving between cultures never fully one, never without the others. Too Balkan for some spaces, too American for others. For a long time, I thought that meant I didn’t quite fit. Now I know better.

What once felt like an in between space became my greatest strength.

The Balkan House was never just about food it’s about identity. It’s about honoring where I come from while embracing where I am. It’s about recipes passed down through generations, paired with the ambition, creativity, and opportunity that America represents. Every dish tells a story of heritage, migration, resilience, and evolution.

As a Bosnian and German woman building a business in America, I blend every single day languages, traditions, work ethic, flavors, and values all together. I serve comfort to those who grew up with these foods, and discovery to those tasting them for the first time. It’s home for some, and an invitation for others.

I’m not choosing one culture over another. I’m honoring them all.
