Let us introduce ourselves - Mary Becher and Ursula Nanson - friends for over 20 years they met by the wood pile next to the smoker at Elmer’s Texas BBQ and worked together with one of the most incredible teams that have ever worked in a restaurant. With over 25+ years in the restaurant business these ladies are not only as well seasoned as their meat, but they appreciate and know how to deliver g

reat service and cook with passion. Mary and Ursula remained friends over the years after they both had their turn owning and operating Elmer’s. Having grown in their Faith - these bossy babes are using their talents and walking in faith to provide quality and hospitality through the meals they serve. Mary says they tossed around the idea of opening another brick and mortar restaurant and then when one of their dear friends purchased Balmoral Golf Course they knew it was time to take our passion for great BBQ on the road. They will be serving the Otter Tail Lakes Area and surrounding cities starting May 2023. They will be able to provide their famous Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Baby Back Ribs for your events - Graduation Parties, Open Houses, Lake Day Picnics, or if you just hang on the boat too long and don’t want to cook. They will be available to provide consistent authentic BBQ. What does that mean - these ladies will be cooking low and slow all night to produce the meat you haven’t seen in these parts since they last owned Elmer’s. Does it sound cocky? Ursula respods, “ Yeah it might be, but we know what we put into producing the best BBQ in the area and you will appreciate all the attention to detail we take in cooking for you.”

Look for them at BALMORAL GOLF COURSE IN BATTLE LAKE (they will be joining Kaari Speer in her new venture) you can visit The BABES AT BAL!!! Outstate Brewing, Fergus Brewing, and the Kirkbride for their Summer Concert Series, Elbow Lake Golf Course and other fun community events. The Bossy Babes are thrilled to get back in front of the community and visit with old friends and make new ones - isn’t that the whole point of having a BBQ!

We are 2 days out from the start of Wadena’s celebration to kick off the summer! Each day we will highlight a different part of the festivities.

Today's Highlight: Friday Festivities in BN Park! We couldn't choose one, so we chose them all! Come out to BN park on Friday and you're sure to find something fun to do! Have breakfast at depot🥞, see the pups from the humane society 🐶, bring the kids to the inflatables, participate in the medallion hunt 🪙, grab something to eat at a food truck🍟, or check out the slick corvettes! So many options!

June Jubilee is all about FUN, ENTERTAINMENT… and FOOD!

Wadena already has incredible brick and mortar restaurants and bars, but for three full days, we’re adding even more mouth watering options you won’t want to miss. Some vendors kick things off Thursday, June 11, with even more joining the lineup June 12 & 13 ... serving everything from savory meals to sweet treats to ice cold drinks that’ll keep you refreshed all weekend long.

Here’s a taste of what’s coming:
2M Fiesta: Fabulous fry bread tacos, taco in a boat, loaded nachos, all beef or pulled pork, elephant ears, battered fries, chicken strips, lemonade/strawberry lemonade, and so much more. Flavor for days.

Baby's Bagels: Burgers … on a bagel. What could be better? Mushroom & Swiss, Reuben, bacon cheeseburger, California, and more. It’s everything you love, with a twist.

Bossy Babes BBQ: Authentic Texas BBQ right here in Minnesota. Brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, ribs ... a little taste of the South in the North.

Coffee33: Hot, iced, or blended coffees, boba lemonades, smoothies, flavored sodas… they’ve got you covered and caffeinated.

Dutchkinz Fans: Traditional Dutch delights: Poffers, beignets, coffee, tea, lemonade, hot cocoa, apple cider, and more. Sweet, indulgent, and absolutely irresistible.

Old Tyme Ice Cream: Old fashioned ice cream churned with a John Deere hit and miss engine, sundae toppings, and root beer floats. It’s nostalgia served with a smile.

Sweet Oasis Lemonade: 32 ounces of freshly squeezed lemonade with a variety of flavors and styles. Bright, bold, refreshing ... try them all.

Tommy Z Concessions: Corndogs, cheese curds, French fries, and fresh‑squeezed lemonade. It’s classic fair food with a side of fun ... the kind you can smell from a block away and can’t resist once you’re close enough to hear that fryer sizzle.

One of my favorite things to do as a small business owner is to find other small businesses that take the time to perfect their craft. Minnesota Mudwater is one of these businesses. I found out they small batch roast their beans in a skillet. You only use one ounce per 10 cup batch (that's my favorite brew strength) and it tastes really really good. I'm not a fan of bitter coffee or coffee that has that slight after burnt flavor. This stuff is yummy! If you have the chance to try it - I encourage you to give it a try!

⛈️ 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗜-𝟵𝟰 𝗗𝗘𝗕𝗨𝗧!

A gorgeous Minnesota afternoon turned sour when sudden thunderstorms brought a deluge of rain to Fergus Falls — postponing the Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing debut at I-94 emr Speedway.

The behind the scenes isn't glamorous, it's quite the opposite, however, the end product is quality every time. Consistency is Key!
