Happy Father’s Day to the man behind the grill, the heart behind Red Dirt Social, and one incredible dad — Mike Shelley.
While many dads are sleeping in or enjoying time with family today, Mike was already in the kitchen at 4:30 AM, preparing from scratch the food that will be served to hundreds of families celebrating Father’s Day.
If you’ve ever visited Red Dirt Social, you know this isn’t a place that cuts corners. Every biscuit, every gravy, every sauce, and every plate is made with care because Mike believes our guests deserve the highest quality meal possible. This restaurant isn’t just a business to him—it’s his passion, his livelihood, and his pride and joy.
Father’s Day is one of the busiest restaurant days of the year, and while we are incredibly grateful for every guest who chooses to spend part of their day with us, we also ask for a little grace and understanding. Like many restaurants, we are currently operating shorthanded, and finding qualified team members during the summer months has proven challenging across the entire service industry.
During peak breakfast and lunch hours, wait times may be longer than expected and service may move a little slower. Please know that this is never intentional. Our team is working as hard as they can, and every person in this building is doing their best to provide a great experience.
Today, as you celebrate the fathers in your life, we’d love for you to join us in wishing Mike a Happy Father’s Day. Thank you for supporting local businesses, supporting our team, and allowing us to be part of your family’s traditions.
Happy Father’s Day, Mike. We love you, appreciate you, and are proud of everything you pour into Red Dirt Social every single day.
