Fuqua families, THANK YOU!

What a great night at the Fuqua Back to School Bash! It was so much fun meeting so many of you, helping families get registered, answering questions, and hearing how excited everyone is about Fuqua School Dining — powered by Grateful Fed Catering.

We are SO excited to feed your families this school year!

And y’all definitely heard us when we mentioned Thursday Night Take-Home Meals. We had so many parents excited about being able to grab dinner while you’re already at school that we may just have to get that rolling a little sooner than planned. Stay tuned!

But first… LET’S TALK ABOUT TONIGHT. 🍗

It’s fried chicken day at Grateful Fed!

Pickup is TODAY from 4–6 PM at our Third Street location.

And apparently y’all were ready for fried chicken because we’ve already sold MORE THAN AN ENTIRE CASE OF CHICKEN! 😳

So… we ordered another one.
That means we have room for a few more orders, but this is officially LAST CALL!

Online ordering closes at 11 AM.
After 11, you’ll need to call us to see if we can squeeze you in, and we’re putting a hard stop around noon.

Because at some point, y’all… we actually have to start frying all this chicken.

And tomorrow is another BIG day — the first day of school at Fuqua!

Fuqua families, if you haven’t placed your student lunch orders yet, please get those pre-orders in today. As we get into the school year, lunches will be pre-order based, so now is the time to get everybody registered, ordered, and ready to go.

Between Fuqua starting back, Longwood students returning, and everybody settling back into their routines, Farmville is starting to feel BUSY again — and we love it.

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE GRATEFUL FED

We’ve spent a whole lot of this week over at Fuqua — cleaning, organizing, inventorying, figuring out what lives where, and getting that kitchen ready for what’s ahead. And yep… we’re back at it today.

Meanwhile, our Third Street crew will be back home Monday and ready to roll into a BIG week. Longwood and Hampden-Sydney are coming back to town, the catering calendar is filling up, and the next couple of months are looking busy in the very best way.

Which means… WE’RE HIRING!

Our full-time crew is pretty well locked in, but we’re looking to add some great part-time catering staff for nights and weekends.

This is a great fit for returning college students or anyone looking to make some extra money.

Hourly pay + tips
• Nights & weekends
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to lift, carry, tote & be on your feet
• Weddings, parties, corporate events & more
• Sometimes it’s hot. Sometimes it’s cold. Sometimes it’s a long day. But it’s rarely boring.

We need people who show up, work hard, jump in wherever needed, and understand that catering is a TEAM sport. If that sounds like you, send us a message!

We’ve been a little quieter than usual on social media lately… and that’s because we’ve been busy building.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been welcoming new team members, training, planning, creating new menus, and getting ready for an exciting fall. We can’t wait to start sharing more of that journey with you.

Christmas in July may be over, but the giving spirit is just getting started!

We are so excited to share that, thanks to this amazing community, we raised $250 and collected 76 brand-new toys for the Prince Edward County Christmas Mother Program!

That’s 76 children who will have one more reason to smile on Christmas morning, and we couldn’t be more grateful for every single person who donated, shopped, and helped make this fundraiser a success.

This is our first full year partnering with the Prince Edward County Christmas Mother Program, and we’re already looking forward to making an even bigger impact together in the years to come.

It’s Wednesday in Farmville, and that means Take-Home Dinner Day!

Tonight’s menu is one of those meals that just feels like home:

And y’all… we’re down to the last of them. If you’ve been thinking about ordering, this is your sign!

Today is one of those days that reminds me how incredible our team is. Pete and the crew are back at the shop cooking up tonight’s dinners while I’m spending the week getting our new Fuqua School Dining program up and running. It’s all hands on deck, lots of moving parts, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

And before anyone asks… I haven’t forgotten about the Christmas Mother fundraiser! Life has just been life-ing lately. I’ll be hopping on Facebook Live this afternoon to share all the final talley’s and draw our prize winner!!!

Now I have one important question…

Welcome to the Grateful Fed family!

We’re excited to officially welcome Heather Shepherd and Jullian Corbett as the newest full-time members of the Grateful Fed team, both starting with us on Monday!

Many of you may already recognize Heather from serving at our catered events, where she’s been one of our amazing cater waiters. Jullian joins us after spending time with our friends at Three Roads Brewing, bringing great experience, a strong work ethic, and an awesome attitude to the team.

As we continue to grow—especially with our exciting new chapter at Fuqua—we’re incredibly grateful to have these two joining us.

That’s a wrap on Christmas Mother in July!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated toys, gave financially, and helped us spread a little Christmas magic this month.

We were planning to announce our final toy and fundraising totals today, but I’m still under strict orders to keep my leg up (and yes… I’m trying my best! 😅). We’ll be back in the shop on Monday, so stay tuned Monday afternoon for the big reveal!

August is here, and we’ve got a busy, exciting month ahead!

We’ll be bringing back all your comfort food favorites this month—fried chicken, spaghetti & meatballs, and more—before rolling into all the cozy fall flavors and homemade soups in September.

We’re also kicking off an exciting new chapter as we begin moving into Fuqua School this week! Monday starts with our full-time team meeting as we welcome some new faces and get everyone ready for the school year. We’ll also be taking inventory of the kitchens and getting everything up and running.

We’re looking for a little help! If you know someone who services commercial refrigeration, we’d love a recommendation. We need to have a few units checked over, make sure everything is running properly, and take care of any maintenance before school starts.

Here’s to a great August! We can’t wait to share everything we’ve been working on.

Can I ask you something?

When you were a kid, did your family have a “Christmas Eve meal” or was Christmas Day dinner the big tradition?

What makes me think of the holidays is the smell of turkey in the oven… someone sneaking a bite of stuffing… Christmas music playing in the background… everybody finding their place around the table for a little while.

That’s what we’ve been celebrating all month.

Tomorrow is our final Christmas in July Wednesday Night Dinner, and we’d love for you to let us cook while you make a few memories around your own table.
