🇩🇪 Seasonal fun at Stratford Garden!
🍺 OKTOBERFEST SEASON KICKS OFF! 🍺
This Saturday, September 26th, starting at 5 PM, we’re kicking off Oktoberfest season in true Stratford fashion!
Letty Hardi, Falls Church City Council will be joining us to ceremonially tap a traditional wooden gravity keg of Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan Festbier—and pints from the keg will be just $6, first come, first served until it’s gone!
Weihenstephaner Festbier is everything you want in a Bavarian celebration b**r: deep gold, full-bodied, pleasantly hoppy and packed with rich malt flavor. Drinking it straight from a traditional wooden gravity keg makes this one even more special, with lower carbonation creating a smoother, rounder pour that really lets the character of the b**r shine. These special Weihenstephaner kegs aren’t offered everywhere, so this is a rare chance to enjoy Festbier in a completely different way.
And our kitchen is going all-in for Oktoberfest weekend! We’ll have a hearty Oktoberfest Sausage Sampler featuring locally made sausages from Boarman's Old Fashioned Meat Market in Highland, MD—Country, Hot Italian and Chicken sausages served with savory braised cabbage, a golden crispy potato rösti and house-made Dijonaisse.
🥨 We’re also serving our jumbo baked Daspretzelhaus locally made, freshly delivered and served warm with creamy Kölsch b**r cheese and house-made Dijonaisse. Big, shareable and pretty much made for a cold Festbier.
🎃🐟 And ultra-fresh Ocean City Pumpkin Swordfish is back for the weekend! Once again caught by Captain Karry of the Seabord off the coast of Ocean City, Maryland, this special orange-fleshed swordfish is richer, sweeter and more buttery than traditional swordfish. This time we’re serving it with charred cauliflower and broccoli, house-made tzatziki-style yogurt and fresh chimichurri.
And if all this talk of Pumpkin Swordfish has you craving some actual pumpkin, we’ve got that covered too. 🎃🍺 Schlafly B**r Pumpkin Ale is on tap, a perennial all-time favorite for many and one of those b**rs we look forward to pouring every fall.
🎶 And stick around, because the party keeps going! From 6:30–9:30 PM, we’ll welcome our longtime pals from Maryland, One Too Many, for live music in the garden. Expect a crowd-friendly mix that moves from classic rock anthems to smooth reggae grooves and plenty in between—the perfect soundtrack for an Oktoberfest Saturday night.
Come hang out with Mayor Hardi and the Stratford crew, dig into our Oktoberfest weekend specials, grab a $6 Festbier, enjoy some live music and help us welcome the season on what should be a beautiful fall Saturday evening in Falls Church.
The keg gets tapped at 5 PM sharp, $6 pours are first come, first served until the keg kicks, and One Too Many takes it from there at 6:30 PM. Prost! 🍻🇩🇪🎶
