Hook&Ladder Pickle Co. Homegrown, Homemade Small Batch Pickles

06/23/2024

This has been an unforgiving season. Cucumbers are not cooperating, dill was killed by snails and it has not been hot enough for peppers. Keep your fingers crossed!

This is my third attempt in my new home. Let's see how this goes!

For the first time in Hook and Ladder's new home, we have the beginning of another season of pickles! The last 16 months have been a whirlwind but I am so excited to get some fresh, organically grown cucumbers, dill and peppers in the dirt.

There are some exciting things happening at Hook&Ladder Pickle Co! We have some new pepper plants, a new style of cucumber starting to pop up and even more exciting, we are getting a new home! We will have a pause in production until we settle in but, some new flavors will be available with our new pepper plants! Stay tuned for new things!

We have been busy here at Hook&Ladder! Cucumbers and dill are going crazy and we have started bottling some pickles! All our pickles are made with organically grown and hand harvested, hand cut, small batch, seasonal produce.
Pint=$8
Quart=$12
Half Gallon (Special Order Only)=$24

Currently Available:

The Probie: A classic dill and garlic pickle with just enough heat to warm you up.

Backdraft: A kicked up version of our classic pickle with some help from one of the hottest peppers available-Carolina Reaper. The heat sneaks up on you and lingers for a bit. For the spice lover who doesn't want to win any heat contests.

Engine Co. 2: A take on our classic pickle with a bit of a twist. Made with a variety called Lemon Cucumbers, these little pickles make a great garnish on your Bloody Mary, Michelada or even a good addition to your Dirty Martini.

Coming soon:

The Inspector: The pickle that inspired the creation of Hook&Ladder Pickle Co. Made with a special (you have to get a jar to figure it out) chilli pepper with a distinct flavor profile that is well balanced with heat and flavor for our personal favorite.

5 Alarm Blaze: Our classic pickle profile but should be sold with a fire extinguisher. Better yet, you should only eat these if you live close to a Fire Department. Made with the infamous Carolina Reaper, this jar includes 4 other peppers that all surpass the puny JalapeƱo on the Scolville Scale.

The next season of Hook&Ladder Pickles is underway! Apparently the gophers love my produce too because they have taken down half of this year's plants. To top it all off, we will be relocating to a new farm and won't be able to harvest all off what we worked so hard to grow. We will make as much as possible with a new variety on deck this year. Staytuned for updates!

I spy a little pickler! The harvest is not far off!

The next planting season is getting closer! Feedback from friends, family and a myriad of taste testers has helped me develop a great set of recipes from mild to 3 alarm fire! We can't wait to get the next season of artisan, small batch pickles out!
