Every chapter eventually comes to a close. A step away from our usual sugar filled shenanigans...I have a bittersweet announcement to make today. The sun will be setting on the House of the Rising Bun at the spring equinox this March. We will be closing the cafe, our last day in operation will be Sunday March 22nd.
BUN ON THE RUN WILL BE OPEN IN THE SUMMER.
I'm sure there will be questions as to why the cafe will be closing so I will give my best brief answer - coffee and food industry margins are razor thin these days, and I did not have luck on my side as a few major unforeseen personal life occurrences happened immediately after opening the cafe, and as much as I tried, and I really did try, the costs of everything became insurmountable. In order for the summertime Bun trailer to live on the cafe chapter must close.
That's enough sad stuff - it has been a wonderful two year journey to this point and I have loved creating this space and getting to work with my amazing team and enjoying the community every day we have been open. The bright side is you will still be able to find us in the summer at the Bun on the Run - which will continue on as it always has...maybe even getting some new additions to the menu from the House of the Rising Bun and once we figure out how to fit an espresso machine in that little trailer that'll be a whole new world over there!
Raven City Studio will be expanding into the upstairs in April, so be sure to follow them for updates on their upcoming events.
