It’s been a little over a month since we launched our page, and WOW—over 1,800 followers! We are truly humbled by the love and support you’ve shown one of Evansville’s most beloved landmarks. Thank you for being part of the Zesto family!

August is our favorite month because on August 24th, we will celebrate 74 years at 920 E. Riverside Drive! 🎉🍦This month we will share some history, memories, and fun facts.

To start off, here’s a little history about us. In 1971, my parents, Tom and Pat Hardesty purchased the Riverside location and our family lived a block north of Zesto on Ravenswood and Grand. All of us 11 kids worked there through the years. I started at 9 years old cleaning the lot. We all had a part in the growth and success of Zesto. In the 80s, my older brother Dan and his wife Mary partnered with our parents and eventually bought Zesto from them in 1990. Dan retired 4 1/2 years ago and sold it to my wife Peg and I.

For nearly three-quarters of a century, generations of families have made Zesto part of birthdays, first dates, many celebrations, summer evenings, and countless sweet memories. We have continued the tradition of serving quality food, delicious soft serve, and friendly service.

Whether you’ve been visiting for decades or just discovered us, thank you for making Zesto a part of your lives. We wouldn’t be here without you. ❤️
