The Best for Last - Customer Service Supervisor - Tabitha
Some people are irreplaceable.
Others can do the job and even give a little extra but with Tabitha it's all the way everyday. Always a smile, always on point with service, even under pressure, she kept things clean and tidy and made sure the others did as well, always organizing and always supportive. I guess it comes from her mothering soul.
It's been almost 6 years of working, laughing, sharing and growing.
I won't have to miss this one because she will be staying on and helping with admin duties. Plus I'm hopeful her son will marry my grandaughter . Thank you my friend.

Gotta love these smiley faces.
Extraordinary Customer Service Professionals
Marci - local and mom of 2 young boys . If you've come in for breakfast or lunch Monday thru Friday you surely have been greeted with her positivity and efficient service.
Darby and Ella- these 2 are working their way thru school and on their way to whatever they put their hopes and amazing work ethic twords.
Bella - dishwasher extraordinaire - new to Humboldt and just getting her feet wet ( pun of course) in the areas before she launches into what life has next.

These guys.....
Something about a kitchen crew, when you share a passion for good food you are bound to get along.
Dom (having no restaurant experience) applied for a dishwashing position but after our interview I decided to give him a shot to train in the kitchen. The learning curve in the soup co kitchen is complex and Dom jumped, 2 years later he is a skilled and now experienced line and prep cook. He has found he Loves to cook and is looking forward to continuing to develop his skills and experience in food service.
Along came Erik has been our line cook, his strongest trait on the line is his presentation and speed- he cares about putting out good food.
Dom and Eric are now friends outside of work.
That is how it goes - kitchen bonds are real and can span beyond work.
Thank you boys , you remind me why I love what I do.

Meet Doy
Sous Chef for hire
Doy has worked for the Soup Co. for over a year.
Hired on as a prep and line cook then quickly advanced to Sous Chef and manager.
He is responsible, reliable, has a great and positive work ethic and.... he can cook! Over the years I have brought on a few that I have tried to teach the soup stove and Doy is the first to really master the station.
Additionally, he has very good leadership skills.
Ideally Doy would prefer to continue to work in Eureka, and work day shifts.
If you are looking for a quality, disciplined and creative member for your kitchen crew, Doy comes with my highest recommendation.

Milton arrived in Eureka from the desert and has been a steady and skilled line cook here at The Soup Co. for over 5 years. I have enjoyed early morning conversations with him on topics of community, politics, conspiracy and mash ups.
He is a friend, neighbor and great human.
Thanks Milton for the many years of good food.

Good Sunny Morning :-)
Thank you all for your kind words and continued support as I make this transition twords a new me. The Humboldt Soup Company has become apart of my core identity, in addition to the work needed to close a restaurant I am soul searching to what is best for the rest of my cheffing career. I still love and all the goodness it shares.

Dear FaceBook Friends and Soup Co Supporters:

With a heavy heart The Humboldt Soup Company will be closing at the end of this month with our last day of service to our community being Friday March 29th

10 years ago I followed my then dream to move to Humboldt from Redding with a passion to create a restaurant utilizing our amazing agricultural community to create accessible , delicious and healthful foods. As a professional chef my passion is not just to run a restaurant but to nourish bodies and souls.

While there are many factors that went into my decision, ultimately it is time for me to focus on my best life and happiness.

I’m VERY thankful for the support of our community and especially my staff past and present.
Most thanks goes to my partner Chef Mike.

From now through Friday March 29th rest assured that I and my trusty Soup Co. Crew will be cooking and serving to the highest of our abilities. So please continue to drive or dine in and share your final support.
