Happy Father’s Day, friends. Hope you’ve had a peaceful day.

Thought we’d leave a pretty photo of The Green Hornet for you to see on your phone tonight. We live in a weird world. Do you think 30 years ago we thought we’d spend time looking at pizza pictures on a hand held computer? Dang. Well, this puff is good. And pretty. And basically a salad. So it fits your macros.

TGH: walnut pesto, garlic, walnuts, sausage, parmesan, fior di latte, post-bake arugula tossed in EVOO.

Lots of events and info coming and I need a puff on the grid to stay pretty…. BUT also worth noting, this beaut Love Is a Tall Building will be retiring soon; making room for TWO new summer puffs. (technically three, as we will have a St. Jude puff for the month of July.)

I spent Monday and Tuesday in Ames, Iowa, walking from session to session during my daughter Carys’ Iowa State orientation. My oldest is going to college. Man. What a blow… but yet, what pride and joy for her, too.

Some interesting facts. Sarah bought me a book months before Carys was born, titled “7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” and upon completing it, I created my first restaurant concept. Fast forward nearly 15 years, and that baby has grown into a passionate and tenacious Eureka Hornet, and it was Carys and the following text in 2022 that got me really thinking of Wendy Puff.

And quick note - Caleri’s is still open in Roanoke, and we greatly appreciate Caleb and his family for their support of Wendy Puff. They are awesome, and their spot in Roanoke is definitely worth visiting. But it was their Eureka location that became available, and after years of dreaming and with some encouragement from Carys - Wendy Puff was born.

There is more to this wild story, of course. For example, when Bob was early 20s, he told his girlfriend and now wife, Annie, “Maybe I’ll own a pizzeria when I’m 40.” Well, the first three numbers of the longitude of Wendy Puff are 40 43 15 - the exact ages of Bob, Me and Carys the year Wendy Puff opened! Wow. God is good. Have a great day, all. Thank you for believing in us and our little spot in the world.

It’s super special to have family in town. Most of our family is local, but we have two sisters out of state. We had a great time together this week. Thankful for summer.
