These are photos from 2012. I’d already been sourcing tea in Taiwan for almost a decade by then — but the relationships I was building that year are still the ones I rely on today.

That’s what people don’t always see: the years between visits. The text messages checking in on a harvest. The cups of tea shared with no agenda. The trust that only accumulates slowly.

Over twenty years later, those same farmers are still the reason J-TEA’s teas are what they are.
