The elk rut ends and the bulls become bachelor buddies again 😂
Both paid parking and RMNP reservations go away 🎉
Locals start braving downtown again 😜 ...

And the weekday crowds turn into a trickle, giving our local businesses the opportunity to take a day or two off! 🙌 Beginning this week, Pines & Cones will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We'll still be scooping up your favorite frozen treats from 1-8P the other five days of the week, and it'll be a LOT easier to find parking, lol!

It's Elk Fest weekend, so stop by the festie for the bugling contest, then come soothe your throat with our Elk Droppings specialty sundae -- two scoops of our most popular flavor (Elk Tracks) layered with creamy peanut butter sauce, hot fudge, and dark chocolate peanut "droppings." MUCH better than the droppings you'll find all over the golf courses ... 😅

"Why 7522 ft?" It's the official elevation of the Town of Estes Park.

"I thought it was a lot more, like 14,000 ft?" Nope, that's just Longs Peak (14,259 ft). You sure wouldn't be walking around shopping and eating ice cream at that elevation!

We've got a new flavor in the house for our Non-Dairy/Vegan friends -- let's give a big "Hola!" to HORCHATA! 🙌

What the heck is Horchata?!? It's a sweet, creamy Mexican beverage featuring cinnamon and vanilla flavors. We asked a couple of folks how they'd describe it and got, "Cinnamon Sugar cereal milk," and "Snickerdoodle with milk." Our Horchata ice cream is non-dairy, so it's made with a mix of coconut and oat milk, and is also gluten-free. Come give it a try and let us know how YOU would describe it!

Fall color is starting to peek out and the elk are already bugling, so it's time for us to break out our Caramel Apple Pie Sundae! 🍎
