Bean of the week: A dark roast
Country: Sumatra
Region: Kerinci, Jambi, West Sumatra
Taste: Sugary, sweet, savory and tart with cherry. lemon, roasted vegetable and caramel flavors.
Fun fact: In Sumatra it is common for the farmers to pick and de-pulp the coffee cherries by hand, along with allowing the beans to dry for a short time. They then will bring it either to a coffee marketplace or directly to a “collector,” or collection point, where the beans are purchased at anywhere from 30–50% moisture, with their mucilage still partially intact.

Overview: Phu Tub Berk is the home of 35 small farm holders who all take great pride in their coffee plants, and the beans that sprout from them. They grow varies of Arabica coffee beans.
