Sunday Thoughts ❤️
Sometimes it takes something bad happening to remind us just how much good there is in this world.
Yesterday, as I was driving through my neighborhood, I watched neighbors helping neighbors clean up after the hurricane. People picking up limbs, clearing yards, moving debris, and just doing whatever they could to help each other.
And I couldn’t help but think about how special that really is.
We live in a world where it sometimes feels like everyone is so busy with their own lives. We get caught up in the hustle and bustle, the negativity, and all the things that seem to divide us. But then something like this happens, and you get to see what people are really made of.
Nobody was worried about whose yard it was or whether they were getting anything in return. They just saw someone who needed help, and they helped.
THAT is what community is all about.
I know the last couple of days have been hard for a lot of people. Some are still without power, some have damage to their homes, and some are trying to figure out how to get everything cleaned up and back to normal.
But yesterday reminded me that we don’t have to go through hard times alone.
I’ve always believed that the people make a community, not the buildings, the businesses, or the streets. And watching everyone come together yesterday just reminded me why I love where we live so much.
If there’s one thing I hope we take away from this storm, it’s that we don’t have to wait for something bad to happen to show up for one another.
Check on your neighbors. Lend a hand when you can. Be kind. You never know what someone else is going through.
And to everyone who has spent the last couple of days helping someone else, whether it’s cleaning up a yard, sharing a meal, offering a place to cool off, or simply checking on someone, thank you.
There’s still a whole lot of good in this world. Sometimes we just need a reminder to look around and see it.
I’m praying for everyone affected by this storm, and I’m especially thankful today to live in a community where people still take care of people.
Happy Sunday, y’all. ❤️
