On June 15, join us as we travel to Friuli, a region tucked between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, known for producing some of the country’s most distinctive and expressive wines. We’ll be featuring the wines of Petrussa, a family-run estate dedicated to native Friulian varieties like Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and Schioppettino.

Layers of velvety, campari-soaked sponge cake alternate between rehydrated cherries and creamy gianduja mousse and culminate in a topping of smooth vanilla custard.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Born out of Italian ingenuity during the Napoleonic Wars, gianduja was created by an Italian chocolatier. To make his chocolate go farther and get around import taxes on cocoa, Pier Paul Caffarel began to mix his chocolate with local ingredients like hazelnuts. His improvisation worked and soon, gianduja became a beloved Italian dessert.
