🍪 𝙷𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚎 𝙲𝚘𝚘𝚔𝚒𝚎𝚜 & 𝙲𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚖 (𝙾𝚛𝚎𝚘) 𝙸𝚌𝚎 𝙲𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚖 🍪

Who doesn’t love Cookies & Cream Ice Cream? It’s one of those classic flavors that makes everyone smile— kids and adults alike! We’ve been making this homemade version using our very own duck eggs, and it’s really good!

Here’s the recipe so you can try it too.

What you’ll need:
2 cups organic half and half
1 cup organic heavy cream
1 cup organic sugar
½ tsp sea salt
4 egg yolks
1 tsp pure vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
1 cup crushed Oreos (about 10 cookies)
1½ cups coarsely chopped Oreos (about 15 cookies)

How to make it:
1. Warm the half and half, sugar, and salt over medium heat.
2. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks, then slowly whisk in a bit of the warm mixture. Pour it back into the pot.
3. Stir constantly over medium-low until slightly thickened (or hits 170°F).
4. Strain into a bowl of heavy cream, stir in vanilla, and chill (overnight is best!).
5. Churn in your ice cream maker until thick.
6. Mix in the crushed Oreos, then fold in the chunky ones when almost ready.
7. Transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze until set.

That’s it! Creamy, crunchy, sweet perfection 🍨

🍦🌿 𝓗𝓸𝓶𝓮𝓶𝓪𝓭𝓮 𝓜𝓲𝓷𝓽 𝓒𝓱𝓲𝓹 𝓘𝓬𝓮 𝓒𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓶 🌿🍦

We’ve been making this delicious Mint Chip Ice Cream here at Makena's Farm and just had to share the recipe with you. It’s creamy, refreshing, and so easy to make!

Plus, you know exactly what’s going into it; no artificial ingredients, just real & organic!

Here’s what you’ll need:
2 cups organic heavy cream
1 1/2 cups organic whole milk
3/4 cup organic sugar
½ tsp fine sea salt
6 egg yolks (or 5 if that’s all you have!)
½ - 3/4 tsp peppermint extract
2 tsp pure vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste (we love Premium Native Vanilla Bean Paste)
Optional: A tiny drop of green or turquoise food coloring (we usually skip this step)
¼-½ cup Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips

How to make it:
1. In a saucepan, whisk together the cream, milk, sugar, and salt over medium-low heat until it starts to steam (about 170°F).
2. Lower the heat, stir in the yolks and vanilla.
3. Pour through a strainer to catch any egg bits.
4. Add the mint extract (and food coloring if using).
5. Let it cool, then chill in the fridge overnight.
6. Churn in your ice cream maker, toss in the chocolate chips, and freeze until firm.
