Well… apparently the last few weeks weren’t challenging enough, so my equipment decided to join in. 😂

I’ve been dealing with SO many technical malfunctions and little hiccups that it’s made getting everything done quite the adventure. One of the biggest offenders lately has been my mixer. This poor thing has been clanking, banging, and dancing all over the counter while I’m trying to bake. 😅

Well, today I finally decided to take it apart and see what was actually going on… and sure enough, I found the problem. 🤦‍♀️

The locking mechanism needs to be replaced.

So, add that to the ever-growing list of things I’m fixing, replacing, adjusting, and figuring out. 😂

Running a small business is definitely not always pretty behind the scenes! There’s a LOT of trial and error, unexpected problems, and figuring things out as I go. But I’m working through it one problem at a time and doing my best to keep Mustard Seed Market by MJ moving forward. ❤️

A Little Business Update ❤️

I want to be honest with y’all—the Sale Barn just hasn’t been going quite the way I had hoped. While I’ve loved getting out there, setting up, and seeing everyone, it’s becoming clear that it may not be the best fit for Mustard Seed Market by MJ right now.

So, for the foreseeable future, I’ll most likely be focusing on pre-orders instead. This will allow me to better plan what I’m baking, reduce waste, and make sure I can put the time and effort into each order that I want to.

I’ll also be putting together an order form to make ordering easier and more organized. I’ll share that as soon as it’s ready!

This isn’t giving up—it’s just adjusting, learning, and figuring out what works best for this little business. 🌱💛

Thank you to everyone who has supported, ordered, encouraged, shared, and cheered me on through all the ups and downs. I appreciate y’all more than you know!

Yesterday was one of THOSE days. 😅🔥

Between oven issues, baking hiccups, and one problem after another, I’ll be honest… I almost threw in the towel. There were definitely a few moments where I thought, “Maybe this is my sign to just give up.” 😂

But then came all the support, encouragement, and kind words. ❤️ And it reminded me exactly why I started Mustard Seed Market by MJ in the first place. One bad baking day (or apparently one oven away from retirement 😂) isn’t going to stop me.

So… it looks like a new oven is officially on the list! 🙌 Because apparently the current one has decided it has contributed enough to the business. 😂

I’m dusting myself off, getting back at it, and we’re at the Sale Barn TODAY! 🛍️🥖🍪

Thank you to everyone who encourages me, supports my little business, buys my goodies, shares my posts, and reminds me to keep going when things don’t go according to plan. You have no idea how much it means. ❤️

I had the pleasure of making a chocolate chip cookie cake for Kayleigh Wilkerson's birthday, and let me just say… there’s something about a giant cookie that makes a birthday feel even better! 😍🍫

🍞👑 EVERYONE, MEET LUCILLE. 👑🍞

This is Lucille, and she would like everyone to know that she has been running my kitchen for the last 4 YEARS. 😂

She’s not new around here. She’s been fed, neglected, spoiled, forgotten about, brought back from the brink, and somehow STILL manages to make the best sourdough bread I’ve ever had. Honestly, she’s more reliable than most people. 🤣

Lucille has opinions. She likes a good feeding schedule, she gets a little dramatic when she’s hungry, and if you ignore her too long, she will absolutely let you know about it. 😂

But after four years together, I can confidently say this girl KNOWS what she’s doing. She makes the most delicious, crusty, chewy sourdough bread, and I’m finally ready to put her to work for Mustard Seed Market by MJ! 🥖🤎

So if you start seeing sourdough goodies making their way onto the menu, just remember…

I may own the kitchen, but Lucille is the boss. 😂👑

✨ This week is all about getting things ready! ✨

I’ll be working on putting together this week’s Mustard Seed Market by MJ menu, and I’m SO excited to get everything planned, baked, packaged, and ready to go! 🥖🍪🧁

I’m also excited to get back out and set up at the Sale Barn! It’s always so much fun getting to see everyone, share what I’ve been working on, and hear what you all want to see next. ❤️

And speaking of things coming together… THE BUILDING IS COMING ALONG! 🏠🌱

It may still be a work in progress, but every little step makes it feel more real. What started as an idea is slowly becoming something I can actually see coming to life, and I couldn’t be more excited!

So stay tuned this week for the menu, behind-the-scenes updates, and plenty of progress pictures. The mustard seed is growing! 🌱💛

Vacation is officially over, and I have one question...

Who decided vacations in your 30s require a vacation to recover from the vacation? 😂

I'm home, unpacking, catching up on laundry, and trying to convince my body that it's time to get back into work mode. A little recovery is definitely in order!

I'll be taking the rest of this week to recharge, get organized, and start prepping. Then it's back to baking and creating next week! My goal is to be ready for the Sale Barn on Friday—assuming Mother Nature decides to cooperate. 🤞🌤️

Thank you all for your patience while I was away. I'm excited to get back in the kitchen, see familiar faces, and bring you some fresh goodies soon. Stay tuned for updates as the week gets rolling!

I'd like to say I'm ready for vacation to be over... but I'd be lying. 🌴❤️ It's been so nice to slow down, make memories, and enjoy some much-needed time away. I'm definitely a little sad to see it come to an end.

At the same time, I'm so excited to get home, roll up my sleeves, and dive back into Mustard Seed Market by MJ. I have so many ideas, goals, and projects I've been thinking about, and I can't wait to start bringing them to life.

Hey friends! 💛

I know I've been a little quiet the last few days. Life has been busy, and now I'm getting everything ready for a much-needed vacation! 🌞

I'll be taking a short break from posting while I'm away so I can spend some quality time with my family and recharge. Thank you all for sticking with me and continuing to support Mustard Seed Market by MJ—it truly means more than you know.
