The Catnip Story

With four cats, catnip was a natural procurement.
As an avid gardener it was a natural progression to want to grow catnip for myself. It wasn’t long until we had more catnip than we knew what do to with. I thought, “why don’t I sell catnip?”
With little investigation, I found that catnip on the market, was foreign, run-of-the-mill, and processed. I wanted to develop a catnip product that was unique and affordable, thus the whole catnip flower and whole catnip leaf products. This allows the full aroma to be locked into the plant.
The entire process is done by hand, from planting to packaging. The catnip is harvested, barn dried upside-down, trimmed and packaged. Drying catnip upside-down allows the plant’s moisture to flow into the usable plant. The catnip is 100% organic, grown without pesticides.
I’ve had a number of customers mention their cats absolutely love my catnip, this is a testimony to the process.
In 2019, I will be working on catnip essential oil for feline and human purposes.
The catnip is of the nepeta cataria strain. Cattywampus Catnip is a faith based company supplying cats and their owners with a product with the right reasons in mind. We are based in a quaint little town, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

My friend Chris requested a gift basket with art supplies for his daughter’s birthday! He gave me his budget, some of her favorite colors, and freedom to select some of our unique products in the shop! We created this “Artsy Girl Gift Basket” for her ✨ It was a refreshing and fun little project and we can’t wait to hear how she likes it! We hope you have a magical birthday, El!!! 🎁
