Listen, I had to learn something: you cannot pray and worry at the same time.

I’d pray, “God, I trust You,” and then five minutes later, I’m worrying about every possible worst-case scenario!

And I realized that cycle was stealing my peace.

The Bible says God has not given us the spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind.

So tonight, stop rehearsing what you’re afraid might happen.

Give it to God.
Release it.
And let your mind rest.

WORK IT OUT WEDNESDAY

PERMISSION TO PAUSE

Sometimes, I drink coffee in the middle of the day.

Not because I need the caffeine.

Sometimes, I need the stillness.

When you have a lot on your plate, it’s easy to keep moving from one task to the next, trying to figure everything out while you’re already in motion.

But sometimes, the answer doesn’t come while you’re moving.

Sometimes, you have to sit down.

Sip.

Breathe.

Think.

Process.

Let your thoughts catch up with you.

People sometimes ask me, “How can you drink coffee in the evening and still go to sleep?”

And my answer is simple:

It’s not about the coffee.
It’s about the stillness.

That cup gives me permission to pause long enough to hear my own thoughts.

Because when life gets loud, clarity often comes in the quiet.

You don’t always need to work harder.

Sometimes you need to stop long enough to work it out.
