If you’ve ever eaten at my Hotdog Cart, please read.
EDIT: I’ve also added the Minutes from the city council meeting in the comments for anyone who wants to read them.

I am not one to support cancel culture. I am a firm believer in freedom of speech and that censorship strangles art. For any business, artist, musician or idea to survive, it requires support from the masses, big or small. However, boycotting based on a difference in politics, ethics or personal beliefs are sometimes ridiculous, but very understandable.
That being said, there are two businesses in our small, little town, Old Towne Store and the House Of Wilie, that I personally will never give my money to ever again. Not because of bad service. Not because of poor quality of goods. But because of using influence and money to edge out competition.
The owners of these two establishments complained about local food trucks. For whatever thier reasons were, they did not agree with the idea. I have not spoken to these people, so I can not speak for them or thier motives. But what they did do, is have city hall form a committe to set forth rules and regulations for local vendors. A committe, mind you, that they themselves would be on. The absolute definition of biased decision making. The equivalent of used car salesmen deciding how much you can sell your '94 Honda Civic for on Facebook Marketplace. Of course they do not want you to make money.
I am not writing this to ask for others to do the same. I do not want you to stop using a service or company that supplies you with meeting your wants and needs. That's your business. What I am doing is making this post public so it can be shared and read by all. I want the owners to see this. And I am more than aware that one person's money isn't going to break you, I get it. But know this, you were once a new business. You started from scratch, struggled your way up and needed the help of others in your community. You should be ashamed of yourselves for what you have done to someone else trying to do the same. Ashamed.
It's no secret which food truck scared you. We all know who it was, because they had the most fantastic food. And they out-cooked you. They had better tasting food on two wheels than you did in a brick-and-mortar building. You couldn't beat them in the kitchen, so you beat them in city hall. That makes you cowards.
$10 a month is nothing to a business such as yours, but that money is going to give me peace of mind in my wallet, where it will stay, until the day I can get another elote hot dog, you pretentious jackasses.
