W**e words for pizza people.
Today’s phrase: “Notes of…”
Pizza person: Things the w**e kind of reminds somebody of.
W**e person: Aromatic and flavor descriptors used during tasting.
Basically, nobody put cherries, raspberries, spices, or cocoa in the bottle. Those are just the things the w**e reminds you of.
Our Alto Limay Pinot Noir is smooth, easy drinking, and full of bright cherry and raspberry. There’s a little spice and a hint of cocoa if you’re paying attention.
If you’re not paying attention, you’ll probably just notice your glass is empty.

Today’s word: Dry.
Pizza person: Not sweet.
W**e person: A w**e with minimal residual sugar.
Somewhere along the way, Riesling got a reputation for being sweet. Empire Estate Dry Riesling would like a word.
Made in New York’s Finger Lakes, it’s crisp and refreshing with apple, citrus, bright acidity, and the mineral character the region is known for.
Not sweet. Not syrupy. Not what your aunt drank in the ’90s.
It pairs great with spicy food, veggie pizza, and proving yourself wrong.

W**e words for pizza people.
Today’s word: Terroir.
Pizza person: The French word for “trust me, it’s special.”
W**e person: The influence of climate, soil, geography, and farming practices on a w**e.
For once, the w**e people have a pretty good example.
Domaine de Fondrèche Il Était une Fois comes from Ventoux in southern France. It’s a Grenache-dominant blend with Syrah and Mourvèdre, grown on old vines in stony soils with the cooler influence of Mont Ventoux. The w**ery itself describes the w**e through exactly those things: altitude, soil, climate and place.
And because apparently we weren’t French enough already, Il Était une Fois translates to Once Upon a Time.
Every W**e Wednesday: $50 a bottle.
Normally $96.
Trust us. It’s the terroir. 🍕🍷
