A major investment in the Rio Grande Valley’s manufacturing future! ⚙️

UTRGV has been awarded a $5 million federal grant through the U.S. Small Business Administration to launch EMPOWER-RGV, an initiative focused on strengthening the region’s manufacturing sector through workforce training, advanced technologies, and support for small manufacturers.

Our Business Development Manager, Daniel Garza, attended the grant presentation recognizing this investment in our region’s workforce and manufacturing ecosystem.

🌱 Business Retention & Expansion in Action!

Our Edinburg EDC team recently had the opportunity to visit Pure Flavor, a leading greenhouse grower and distributor of fresh produce that has been operating in Edinburg for approximately two years and currently employs about 150 employees locally.

During our Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) visit, we learned more about their operations, discussed their experience doing business in Edinburg, and, most importantly, talked about their plans for future expansion and continued growth in our community.

Edinburg EDC recently participated in the EDO Fair, hosted by the American Chamber of Mexico (AmCham México) in Mexico City.

Jeffrey Salcedo Cantú connected with Mexican companies interested in expanding into the U.S. market and highlighted Edinburg’s competitive advantages in cost, workforce, and logistics.

The event also featured seminars and success stories from Mexican companies already operating in the United States.
