Something Sweet by Maddie Lu- Coon Rapids Specializing in custom cakes and cupcakes for any event! I am a graduate from Le Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis. I have a passion for baking and decorating cakes.

I graduated from the Patisserie and Baking program with an associates degree and High Honors. In November, I completed a 4 month internship at the Boardwalk Bakery in Walt Disney World as a part of my schooling. I opened up a bakery in Coon Rapids, Minnesota with my mother on May 2nd 2015. We specialize in gourmet cupcake flavors, custom cakes, macarons, and more.

This is going to be fun!!!!!

Introducing Something Sweet’s first ever pumpkin decorating contest! Here’s the deets:

🎃 Pumpkins can be carved, painted, stacked, you name it. The more creative, the better! There are no limitations.

👻 Pumpkin drop off will be at Something Sweet in C**n Rapids during store hours (11-6pm) Monday October 26th-Thursday October 29th. We will line up the pumpkins as they come in, in the store so they can be viewed by the public.

🍭 Friday October 30th and Saturday October 31st will be community voting. Each pumpkin will have a jar in front of it and each customer will vote on which one they like best. One vote per person.

🪦 1st 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded prizes, along with Maddie Lu’s choice, and an under 12 years old category winner. They will be announced on Sunday November 1st.

Tag friends! Have pumpkin decorating parties, get festive! I LOVE HALLOWEEN! 🦇 I did grow up in the Halloween capital of the world you know 😉

I brought some apple crisp home from work just now and something came over my husband and I and we turned into straight vultures and just almost ate the whole thing. I feel no shame, and will probably have it scooped clean by 8pm tonight. Apples are healthy okay…… 🤣

I refuse to use AI for anything with my business. We are in a creative industry, and letting the internet throw together a cheesy flyer/post/edited photo/etc. takes away from that. It takes away from people with artistic abilities and that’s not my cup of tea.

So with that, here’s a photo of me holding a tray of delicious soft baked vanilla pistachio cookies with a cream cheese dollop and pistachio butter swirl that just came out of the oven!

These were inspired by the new Purely Elizabeth vanilla pistachio cookie granola which is DELISH! So I needed to create a cookie version 🍪
