This is Darren Atkins, a Colorado artist who grew up in Arvada, served six years in the U.S. Navy, then returned to Colorado to study geology at CU Boulder. After school, Darren and his wife traveled the world and lived in Iceland for two years before returning, again, to Colorado, this time to raise their two kiddos.
Darren creates art on metal. He loves creating bright, shimmering effects on the metal's surface that catches the eye and changes often, depending on the viewer's position and the light in the room.
Darren's work will be featured on the art gallery wall inside our market hall's main entrance throughout the month of September. Swing by the check it out in person!
