Senate leadership, many lawmakers and the White House support an extension of the federal h**p deadline to give lawmakers a little more time to work toward common-sense rules instead of wiping out an entire legal industry overnight.

And now Senator Ted Budd is leading an effort to remove that extension and put the sweeping federal h**p ban right back on track for November 12.

That is incredibly frustrating.

We have never argued against regulation. We support age limits, testing, responsible packaging and sensible rules. What we cannot support is exterminating thousands of small businesses, farms and jobs when Congress has another option sitting right in front of them.

Updated Hours at Wonders of Nature

We’ve adjusted our hours to better reflect customer traffic downtown:

Monday–Friday
Cafe: 10 AM–5 PM
Dispensary: 10 AM–6 PM

Saturday: 9 AM–5 PM
Sunday: 11 AM–3 PM

The dispensary will remain open until 6 PM during the week for your green convenience, while the cafe will now go back to closing at 5 PM.

Starting tomorrow, Saturday, August 1st, paid parking will officially begin downtown.

We know a lot of people are frustrated by this change. We understand it, and honestly, we share many of those concerns. For more than a year, we’ve been speaking up about how paid parking could impact small downtown businesses, especially at a time when many of us are already navigating a very difficult economy.

But as frustrating as this change may be, we want to gently ask our community not to let it become another reason to give up on downtown.

Downtown Eau Claire still matters.

It’s our river walks and bridges. It’s the farmers market, the music, the cafés, the small shops, the family-run businesses, and the people who have poured their lives into creating something meaningful here. Downtown is part of what gives Eau Claire its character, and it needs community support now more than ever.
We’ve done our best to make this transition easier for our customers.

Paid parking does not begin until 1:00 PM, so many morning coffee runs, breakfast stops, lunch visits, and early shopping trips won’t be affected.

We also worked with the City to add a free 15-minute quick parking spot in front of our shop for those fast café stops or quick in-and-out visits.

A parking kiosk has also been installed in front of Wonders for anyone who would rather not use the Passport app. You’ll be able to use a credit card or quarters right outside before coming in.

And if you’re stopping by after 1:00 PM and the meter is the thing standing between you and a visit, please come in and talk to us. We’ll keep some quarters on hand. We would much rather help with a dollar of parking than have someone feel like they can’t stop in.

These are uncertain times for many small businesses, including ours. Over the next few months, we have a lot ahead of us, but we’re still here, still showing up, and still doing our best to serve this community with good coffee, good food, good products, and a space that feels welcoming.

We hope you’ll continue to hang with us.

A few of you mentioned that opening a little earlier on Saturdays would be helpful, so we’re giving it a go!

Our Saturday hours are now 9am–5pm, giving you an extra hour in the morning to stop in for coffee, juice, smoothies, café goodies, and all your favorite Wonders finds.

Celebrate Earth Day every day here at Wonders of Nature 🌎💚

Being eco-conscious isn’t just something we talk about. It’s part of how we run our café every day. Through our partnership with Earthbound Environmental Solutions, our food scraps are composted, and our single-use plastics and takeout materials are fully compostable and returned to the soil.

We do our best to source locally whenever possible and make thoughtful choices in how we bring food and drinks to our community. That means lots of organic ingredients, clean whole foods, and sustainability-minded sourcing.

We love this Earth, we respect nature, and we care deeply about the future we’re leaving for our children.

So when you support Wonders, you’re supporting a café that’s trying to do things a little differently and a little more thoughtfully.
