After six incredible years, Fatuโs Kitchen will be closing its doors.
Saturday, August 29, 2026, will be our final day of business.
Wow. There, I said it.
For six years, I have been blessed and honored to own and operate Fatuโs Kitchen, a proud Liberian-owned restaurant in the City of East Orange, New Jersey. What started as a dream became so much more than a restaurant. It became a gathering place, a community, and a home away from home for so many.
After much prayer, reflection, and careful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to close this chapter. This decision did not come lightly. I would be lying if I said I wasnโt afraid. I am fearful, excited, emotional, and hopeful all at the same time. But sometimes growth requires us to step into the unknown, even when we cannot yet see the entire path ahead.
To my customers, supporters, staff, family, and friendsโthank you.
Thank you for every meal shared, every conversation had, every celebration hosted, every word of encouragement, and every act of support throughout these six years. Many of you came in as customers and left as family. Together, we created memories that I will carry with me forever.
While this chapter is coming to an end, I am choosing to believe that the best is still ahead. I am excited to see what the future holds, and I hope you will continue to be part of that journey.
So this is not goodbye.
It is simply โuntil we meet again.โ
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for six unforgettable years.
With love and gratitude,
Fatu Rimbert
Owner, Fatuโs Kitchen
