Oh my gosh… can we throw it back to mid-July for a moment? 💖✨
Tucked away at Shearwater Cove, in collaboration with the wonderful Alaska Elopement Photographer, was one of the most magical little celebrations I’ve ever had the privilege of cooking for.
This was a truly intimate Alaskan elopement, completely remote, reachable only by water taxi, hidden away in the heart of Seward’s Resurrection Bay. Mountains rising out of the water, that endless Alaska summer light, and a tiny gathering of people celebrating love in one of the most breathtaking places imaginable. 🌿🏔️🌊
And then there was the food. ✨
I wanted the menu to feel like summer in Alaska, fresh, colorful, a little wild, and beautiful enough to belong in its surroundings.
🍑 Peach & heirloom tomato Caprese with a hot honey balsamic reduction
🫐 Grilled venison medallions glazed in a blueberry barbecue sauce, surrounded by fresh fruit, vegetables & Alaskan berries
🐟 Perfectly cooked Alaskan halibut finished with a silky orange beurre blanc
Cooking in a place this remote, surrounded by Resurrection Bay and all that wild Alaskan beauty, felt almost surreal. There are catering experiences that stay with you long after the last plate has been served, and this was absolutely one of them.
Mesmerizing. Intimate. Wild. Romantic. So very Alaska. ✨
I’m incredibly grateful that I get to create food for moments like these.
And a huge shoutout to Ariel from Alaska Elopement Photographer for capturing my work so beautifully. 💖📸
